“For someone who was new to London, Citypink was a god-send. A little over a year ago a friend recommended I should go along to a drinks evening. From the moment I walked through the door I was made to feel welcome. I can now say I am privileged to have three very good friends that I would not have met if it had not been for Citypink. I still go to Citypink events, they are fun, there is something for everyone (from drinks to theatre), and the people are great. I hope to see you there some time soon.”

The Alternative Families Show is a one-stop showcase for singles, couples and families who do not identify with the increasingly outmoded idea that families only comprise a married heterosexual couple with 2.4 children.

The first exhibition of its kind, this innovative show will inform and explain, attracting exhibitors from a huge range of organisations with seminars running throughout the day on ‘everything you need to know’ such as IVF treatment, same-sex families, fostering and adoption for singles, straight and gay couples, surrogacy, private, overseas and NHS treatments, legal issues and much more.

We’ll be answering all the important questions, such as: ‘am I too old?’, ‘I can’t afford IVF’, ‘I can’t find a male donor’, ‘should I use an unknown donor?’ ‘can I get treatment on the NHS’ and ‘what are my legal rights’.

We won’t only be dealing with pre-birth information but also with issues that arise for new families, addressing legal concerns, giving out useful literature and showcasing networks on how to handle questions in later life from donor children.
