The Olive Groves of Belchite is Elena Moya Pereira’s tale of how the past haunts our lives,and of the battles that have just begun when the fighting is over. The novel offers an insight into modern Spain, still unknown to most.  

Elena Moya Pereira grew up in the Mediterranean coastal town of Tarragona, south of Barcelona. After attending University in Spain, she was awarded a Fulbright scholarship to do a Masters in Financial Journalism in the U.S. She is currently a business reporter for the Guardian newspaper, having worked at Bloomberg and Reuters newswires since settling in London in 1998. She lives with her partner in North London.
